Time is Running Out to Apply for HBIIP

Just over two months remain to submit grant applications for the Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program (HBIIP). Don’t wait until the last minute to take advantage of HBIIP! Grant applications are due September 30, 2024.

What is HBIIP?

The Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program (HBIIP) is a federal program with the purpose of increasing the sales and use of higher blends of ethanol and biodiesel. This incentive program is meant to encourage a more comprehensive approach to market higher blends by sharing the costs related to building out biofuel-related infrastructure.

What funding is available?

There are specific funds available each quarter for different types of operations with eligible activities related to higher blends of fuel ethanol greater than 10 percent, such as E15 or higher, and biodiesel greater than 5 percent, such as B20.

What are the terms?

Awards to successful applicants will be in the form of cost-share grants for up to 75 percent of total eligible project costs, but not to exceed $5 million, whichever is less.

The program’s current application period is open until September 30, 2024.

E15 Reminder

Please remember it is vitally important that if any of your sites are offering E15 that the site is accurately registered using our E15 registration portal at CenexE15.com. Our misfuelling mitigation plan, filed with the EPA, requires us to report which Cenex® branded locations offer E15. In addition, all sites choosing to sell E15, at any time, must adhere to all Cenex brand standards as required in the Branded Petroleum Marketer’s Agreement (BPMA).
