Cenex® Lubricants Grease Price and Invoicing Change

As previously communicated, the entire lubricant industry has been experiencing an extremely tight grease market since last fall. Starting with supply chain disruptions due to COVID-19, followed by the Chemtool plant fire in the winter of 2021, to most recently the impact from the Russian invasion of Ukraine. These factors have caused delays in getting product along with unprecedented and continual price increases. As a result of these changing market conditions, Cenex® Lubricants is adjusting to monthly price changes and invoicing at the time that the product is shipped.
Monthly Pricing
Cenex Lubricants will communicate on a monthly basis if there will be any price changes on grease products. We will evaluate our grease costs from suppliers each month and provide notice if there will be a price change on any grease products. Unlike our normal price change process, there will be no PIRC (Price Increase Relief Credit) available for the grease price changes. A new grease price sheet will be provided by your Lubricants District Manager on the 5th of each month. Pricing will also be posted on Lubesource with a memo summarizing any changes.
On July 12, 2022, Cenex Lubricants issued a price increase all on grease products. Cenex branded greases increased by $0.30 per pound.
Invoicing at Shipping
Due to the current market volatility and extended lead times, Cenex Lubricants will invoice the price at the time the grease is shipped rather than the price when ordered. This monthly approach follows how grease suppliers have changed their pricing.
Please contact your CHS Lubricants District Manager with any questions regarding this change.
