Automated Fuel Delivery (AFD) Spring Recap

“Season”– a fixed period of every year during which particular activities, especially sports, take place or are permitted (Encarta Dictionary). The spring brings “planting season” and “construction season”, unfortunately this year, the season did not coincide its typical “fixed period”, creating challenges on many levels.
AFD was no different, although, it weathered the proverbial storm well, as our staff of dispatch and drivers worked to keep the customer fuel tank inventories plentiful through an ultra-short planting season. Short season, like we just experienced, help us identify end user fuel tanks that may be undersized.

Whether you participate in the Automated Fuel Delivery program (AFD) or not, undersized customer fuel tanks make delivery efficiencies and profitability a challenge! AFD has experienced a 4.5% growth through June and we anticipate this growth will continue through the balance of the CHS fiscal year. Our team of employees is working to incorporate new processes to improve the overall efficiency of the program and prepare a platform capable to procure AFD growth in the future.

The AFD staff is experienced and ready for the expected growth ahead with the addition of our new Delivery Coordinator Supervisor Erica Eck. Erica brings over 12 years of experience in supply chain and transportation management to AFD. She will lead the AFD routing and dispatch execution delivery team and help us as we grow. We encourage you to contact Erica and introduce yourself if you have not yet had the opportunity to do so. You can contact her at Erica.Eck@chsinc.com.

If you are interested in identifying customer tanks that turn inventory rapidly, we encourage you to contact Beau Gorres at Beau.Gorres@chsinc.com or Dan Severson at Dan.Severson@chsinc.com.
