Changes coming to Cenex® gasoline
Beginning January 1, 2027, Cenex® gasoline will transition to the new TOP TIER™+ gasoline standard. TOP TIER+ builds on the benefits of the current TOP TIER™ standard and includes additional performance testing for today’s engine technologies including gasoline direct-injection fuel systems.
Why TOP TIER+?
TOP TIER+ is designed for today’s engine technologies. Its standards include additional engine tests intended to support cleaner fuel injectors, optimal emissions, and efficient combustion.
What to expect:
Between January 1 – March 31, 2027, a third-party representative will visit all Cenex locations to update product identification decals (PIDs) on dispensers.
- A letter of authorization will be presented to staff before any work begins
- The representative will remove old TOP TIER PIDs and apply new TOP TIER+ PIDs
- Dispenser skirt imaging will not be updated
- The PIDs and trip will occur at no cost to retailers*
- No action is required from retailers**
*Wayne Anthem dispensers may require ASC involvement. Those dispensers will be addressed at the conclusion of the PID updates.
**PID updates are not optional. Work will be executed once the letter of authorization is provided to staff.
